Connor is a local young man (not a Service Veteran), who was struck by a school bus on his way to school (JHS), in the early morning of February 9th, 2018 (on Gum Branch Rd.). His injuries were extensive. Co-Founders - Jennifer & Britney knew that he was going to require a SD to help him regain and maintain a normal life as possible. They secured Piper at 14 weeks old, who they were originally actively seeking a Veteran for (to no avail), from an anonymous donor . The donor agreed after learning of Connor's story to donate one of her AKC pups (Piper) to him. To view the WCTI 12 News story covered on June 29th, 2018 click the "Find Out More" hyperlink below.
Co-Founder~ Britney being a Local Independent Dog Trainer, who specializes in Mobility and Psychiatric training for SDs agreed to donate her training services for Piper, Connor and Beverly. Thus, Piper and the Training being 100% covered. Beverly is a single mother who relies on a single income to provide for herself, her son Connor and now Piper. She was very humbled to see her community pull together in this manner when they were presented with a SD. Connor still requires more surgeries and suffers from TBI/PTSD; to learn more about Connor's story and how you can still help, please visit his GoFundMe page at: https://www.gofundme.com/ConnorLong
